Is it healthy to shave your pubic hair?

I am male and just shaved mine for the first time, not completely but took most of it off, because it was growing so much that it was beginning to get tangled in my foreskin causing pain. I shaved it with an ordinary disposal razor. Is it normal to shave it, I have to say it looks and feels ier with less hair. What do you prefer, shaven, partially shaven or do you prefer a bush of pubic hair? I am 20 btw.
