Can Liptotor make all your joints her a lot and make you forgetful too ????

hi, my mom has been on Liprotor for a few years. Recently her doctor increased her dose and ever since ALL her joints hurt so much and I think she is getting a little forgetful...I saw a lady with the same sympotoms on the news this morning....But is this possible? Thanks!!
