Has the mystery of the Crystal Skulls been solved?

I think "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" proved conclusively that they are of alien origin, in addition to settling the old controversy about whether or not you could survive an atomic explosion by hiding in an old-style refrigerator and being blown two miles through the air.
