How can i help her? please help !?

Hi my best friend is facing problems at home. she said that her father hits her because shes slow at reading, she has dyslexia. so shes in slow english and all. but shes good in art but she doesnt care. and when he gets drunk and comes home late, he takes it out on her. she comes to school will all black and blues. me and her ex bf is the only 1 who knows about this. i tell her we all have issues at home but maybe you should tell ur mom to kick him out and call the cops so they can put him in jail or something. and she said that if she calls the cops on him that her mom wont be happy with her. so when she calls or sometimes talks to me about it, i want to help her with some jokes or on what to do. but i have no idea. i only seen once my dad hit my mom once and they made up, but she wont talk to her dad. i dont know what to do, shes so sweet. shes in 12th grade so next yr. shes going far away for college. but then i dont get to see her. i just dont know how to talk to her or help her. :[ please some advice on to make her laugh or on what to say to her?
